Schmidt wins the fight, solidifying his social status and gaining Eric's trust. During the party, a fight breaks out between Schmidt, Jenko, and some party crashers. Schmidt and Jenko throw a party at Schmidt's parents' house, where they are living during the course of their assignment, and invite Eric. Jenko becomes friends with the students in his AP Chemistry class and finds himself becoming more interested in geeky hobbies and academic pursuits. After experiencing the drug's effects, the duo discovers that Schmidt's intelligence now makes him popular, while Jenko's lax attitude is frowned upon.Įric takes a liking to Schmidt, who develops a romantic interest in Molly. The two take HFS in front of him to maintain their cover. Schmidt gets a lead on HFS from classmate Molly, and he and Jenko meet the school's main dealer, popular student Eric. Captain Dickson assigns them to contain the spread of a synthetic drug called HFS ("Holy Fucking Shit") at Sagan High School. The duo is reassigned to a revived scheme from the 1980s, which specializes in infiltrating high schools. They catch a break when they arrest Domingo, the leader of a one-percenter motorcycle gang, but are forced to release him after they failed to read him his Miranda rights. Seven years later, the duo meets again at the police academy and become friends and partners on bicycle patrol. In 2005, scholarly student Morton Schmidt and popular underachieving jock Greg Jenko miss their school prom, Schmidt being rejected by the girl he was trying to ask to be his date and Jenko being barred from attending due to failing grades. A sequel, titled 22 Jump Street, was released on June 13, 2014, and in 2015 a female-led spin-off was in development but never came to fruition. Stoked for the sequel.21 Jump Street is a 2012 American buddy cop action comedy film directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (in their live action directional debuts), written by Jonah Hill and Michael Bacall, and starring Hill and Channing Tatum. IMO a very good career move for both Hill and Tatum. genuine, clever, vulgar yet respectable comedy with some heart.
Despite it's faults, I found this to be a damn hard movie to hate, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun weekend movie. 21 Jump Street features some of the most awkwardly humorous camera shot transitions, scene changes and music integration. This movie had some surprisingly clever dialogue throughout and some of the best supporting characters I've seen in recent comedies (Ice Cube, The Principal, etc.) What really stood out to me though was the editing. Even the dumbest and most profane of this movie's jokes and clichés seemed to know that they were such and were given the proper comedic build up/context to at least warrant a chuckle.
there was the usual expected Jonah Hill trademarked myriad of penis jokes and one extremely unnecessary shock gag but the majority of the movie was, to me, surprisingly satirical/smart/relevant in today's society, self-aware, and situationally hilarious. a bit of the dialogue seemed to me to be vulgar strictly for the sake of being vulgar. I really wasn't expecting all that much out of the experience aside from leaving the house and catching up with a buddy. Anyways, having that mind set approaching tonight and considering the fact I didn't laugh once during the 21 JS trailer, green or red band. (The success of Project X seriously worries me.). Review itself: This is of no disrespect to Jonah Hill, his fashion of humor or his fans at all, but I, personally have grown tired of what seems to now be a plethora of wanna be Hangover and Superbad's.

I did not want to see this movie, and wouldn't have under any other circumstances but my friend really wanted to and the tickets were free so I went. Precursor: I just moved back into town two days ago and had made plans to see one of my old friends tonight.
